Hyderabad Sailing Week from July 1

Hyderabad: The ‘Hyderabad Sailing Week’ would be held at the Hussain Sagar lake here from July 1 to 8.

“It is the only Olympic class event in the country which is being conducted continuously from last 32 years”.

Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh, Commandant, MCEME and Commodore EME Sailing Association said, “This is a landmark year for the EME Sailing Association as this year the event has been accredited as the YAI National Ranking event wherein the performance of the sailors will be ranked, which will give them points for selection into National Team. The eco-friendly sport is getting popular day-by- day and over 200 sailors from all over the country are expected to participate in this year’s event”.

”Even this year, also we have taken the onus to give heavy weight single handler Olympic Class ‘Finn’ a participation at this mega platform. We already have an Olympian in Finn Class from the country and this is for the first time that it is being sailed in any Senior Multi-class event in the country” he added.

The prestigious Hyderabad Sailing Week, YAI Senior Multi-class (Ranking) Sailing Championship-2018 is hosted by Laser Class Association of India, EME Sailing Association and Secunderabad Sailing Club in support with Sports Authority of Telangana State under the aegis of Yachting Association of India and International Laser Class Association.
