On Saturday, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra advised theatre owners to enhance fire safety measures.
Ravindra also urged the theatre owners to renew their licenses, warning them of stringent actions if they failed to adhere to the order. He also informed the attendees about the license renewal process. The commissioner then directed them to manage the show timings in order to control the flow of traffic.
Officials from the GHMC, Fire, R&B, Electrical, Law and Order, and Traffic departments all attended the meeting.
Fire incidents dip in Hyderabad
In the last eight months, the State Fire Department’s Hyderabad Division received 645 calls, including 7 serious calls. Firefighters conducted 17 rescue operations, saving the lives of 14 people, and while they were able to save property worth Rs.28.10 crore, property worth Rs.7.4 crore was damaged.
In comparison to last year, fire and emergency calls in Hyderabad have decreased this year until August 2022. While 7,327 calls were received last year, only 645 were received this year, which is a significant decrease.
Officials stated that with only a few months left in the year, there was little chance of a significant increase.
While there was an increase in serious and minor calls, there was a significant decrease in medium-intensity fire calls.
According to officials, the department received seven serious calls during this time period, as well as 17 medium and 604 minor calls. Aside from that, the fire department participated in 17 rescue operations.
While the total estimated value of the damaged property was Rs.7.40 crore, the value of the property saved was Rs.28.10 crore. Aside from that, fire personnel saved the lives of 14 people, while 11 died in various fire mishaps.
Officials also reported a slight increase in small fire calls and a decrease in medium fire calls as a result of the department’s quick response Mist Motor Bikes.
