Residents of several areas across the city will face a 24-hour disruption in water supply starting from 6 a.m. on Thursday, according to a press release from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB). The disruption has been caused due to a significant leakage in the Krishna Drinking Water Supply Phase-3 pumping main, which delivers drinking water to Hyderabad.
The affected areas include:
West Zone: Sastripuram, Bandlaguda, Bhojagutta, Allabanda, Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar, Prashasan Nagar, Tattikhana.
North Zone: Lalapet, Saheb Nagar, Auto Nagar, Vasavi reservoirs, Sainik Puri, Maulali, Madhapur, Ayyappa Society, Kavuri Hills, Snehapuri, Kailasagiri, Devendra Nagar, Madhuban, Durga Nagar.
South Zone: Budvel, Suleman Nagar, Kismatpur, Gandham Guda.
East Zone: Boduppal, Mallikarjuna Nagar, Chengicherla, Bharat Nagar, Peerzadiguda, Dharmasai (Shamshabad).
The HMWSSB stated that a leak occurred in the 2375 mm diameter mild steel (ms) pumping main, prompting the need for immediate repair work. “We request the consumers in these areas to use water sparingly during this period,” said the board in its statement.

The Krishna Drinking Water Supply Project Phase-3 is one of the primary pipelines supplying drinking water to the city, and the repair work will take approximately 24 hours to complete.
The water board has urged residents in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements to store water and minimize consumption during this period. Authorities are working swiftly to repair the pipeline and restore normal water supply as soon as possible.
Residents are advised to stay updated through official channels and plan accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
