Hyderabad: Water supply unavailable in these areas for 36 hours starting Aug 16

Over 3.5 lakh residents within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits will be affected by the disruption of water supply starting August 16 as reported by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB).

Households receiving potable water through the Krishna supply chain will be affected by the interruption. The water supply will be disrupted to complete electric work and flyover construction as part of the Strategic Road Development Project (SRDP).

As per the reports, the areas likely to be affected by the disruption in water supply include Kishanbagh, Miralam, Santhosh Nagar, Al Jubail Colony, Vinay Nagar, Saidabad, Chanchalguda, Yakutpura, Asmangadh, Madannapet, Mahabub Mansion, Riyasat Nagar, Balapur, Aliyabad, Boggula Kunta, Afzalgunj, Narayanguda, Adikmet Shivam, Nallakunta, Dilsukhnagar, Bongulur, Chilkalguda, and Manneguda.

In addition to the aforementioned areas, a few other areas will experience water shortages between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on August 16.

The areas to be affected are under the purview of reservoirs at Balapur, Barkas, Shastripuram, Maisaram, Bandlaguda, Karwan, Langar Houz, Kakatiya Nagar, Humayun Nagar, Tallagadda, Asifnagar, MES, Shaikpet, Mehdipatnam, OU Colony, Toli Chowki, Mallepally, Vijayanagar Colony, Chintal Basthi, Jiyaguda, Red HIlls, Bojagutta, Secretariat, Old MLA Quarteres, Allah Banda, Gagan Mahal, Himayatnagar, Mekalamandi, Bholakpur, Jubilee Hills, Film Nagar, Prashasan Nagar, Tattikhana, Tarnaka, Lalapet, Marredpally, Control Room, Railways, MES, Bouddha Nagar, Cantonment, Prakash Nagar, Patigadda, Hasmatpet, Ferozguda, Goutham Nagar, Sahebnagar, Vaishali Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Auto Nagar, Maruthi Nagar, BN Reddy Nagar, Mehndra Hills, Sainikpuri, Maulali, Velugu Gutta, Ramantapur, Uppal, Nacharam, Habsiguda, Chiluka Nagar, Beerappa Gadda, ,Snehapuri, Kailasgiri, Devendranagar, Gachibowli, Madhapur, Ayyappa Society, Madhuban, Durga Nagar, Budwel, Suleman Nagar, Golden Heights, 9 Number, Hyderguda, Rajendranagar, Kavuri Hills, Upparpally, MM Pahadi, Chintalmet, Kishanbagh, Gandhamguda, Manikonda, Narsingi, Kismatpur, Boduppal, Mallikarjuna Nagar, Chengicherla, Bharatnagar, Manikchand, Peerzadiguda, Meerpet, Lenin Nagar, Dharmasai, Badangpet, and Turkayamjal.

For the first time since the beginning of the monsoon this year, the HMWSSB has announced such an intervention.

HMWSSB director projects-II, P Ravi Kumar, said, “We will arrange as many tankers as possible for consumers and ensure they make additional trips so that no one is inconvenienced.”
