On Friday, Karkhana police arrested a youngster on charges of illegal possession of narcotic substances and committing burglaries.
He was arrested with 1.2 kg of marijuana, 10 ml of hashish oil, cash, gold jewellery, watches, mobile phones, and a bike worth Rs.3 lakh.
According to police, the apprehended individual, Mohd. Ahmed Pasha, a construction worker from Subhash Nagar Colony in IDA Jeedimetla, was associated in seven cases in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda.
As per the North Zone DCP Chandana Deepti, Ahmed Pasha conducted reconnaissance of quiet residential colonies, breaking into houses and temples and stealing valuables. He also began acquiring marijuana in both dry and liquid form for personal consumption.
“He had previously been involved in 19 burglaries in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda. In 2018, the Bowenpally police detained and jailed him under the Preventive Detention Act. He was released in 2021 and has since committed six offences,” according to the DCP.
The police apprehended Ahmed Pasha and recovered the narcotic substance and other items from him after receiving a tip. He was also remanded in judicial custody.
Two drug peddlers arrested
In other news, the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) and the Abids police department apprehended two drug peddlers who were allegedly in possession of five LSD blots.

One of the two accused had dropped out of engineering school. In the past, he had obtained and consumed LSD in Goa. Later, he purchased LSD in Hyderabad and was apprehended by police while selling 5 LSD blots to needy people in Nampally.
Police have also seized two mobile phones in addition to the contraband. The total value of the seized property is Rs 50,000.
