Hyderabad: Youngster detained for posting terror-related posts on social media

The Hyderabad Police detained a young individual from Falaknuma for alleged involvement in suspicious activities related to terrorism, police said.

Using social media sites such as Instagram, Telegram, and others, the suspect, who lives in Falaknuma in the old city, was attracting and influencing youth towards terrorism.

He had created nearly 20 fake accounts on Instagram and tried to spread the ideology of terrorism, according to sources.

Using the Internet Protocol address, the police located him and took him into custody. He was undergoing counselling.

Drug overdose kills 23-year-old man

On Thursday, police reported that a 23-year-old BTech graduate had died after overdosing on drugs.

According to authorities, the deceased, who was addicted to multiple drugs, was a friend of a drug dealer who was arrested here today while selling different narcotic drugs.

DS Chauhan, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) said that the drug dealer, who is a realtor, and three consumers — a software employee, a guitar teacher, and a student of engineering — were apprehended on Thursday. Six LSD blots, ten Ecstasy pills and 100 grams of Hash oil were seized from the accused’s possession.

According to police, the deceased (an unemployed BTech graduate) was totally addicted to various drugs and his frequent trips to Goa led him to try various drugs.

The man was admitted to a hospital in the city recently and doctors informed police he suffered from multiple sclerosis and strokes and died due to a drug overdose while undergoing treatment.

Police added that the deceased, the peddler, and others visited Goa frequently and consumed a number of drugs including LSD, pills, cocaine, MDMA, and hash oil.

LSD is known to be a highly potent “mood-changing” chemical, while MDMA is mainly used as a recreational drug or party drug.
