Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in Hyderabad to face Sunrisers on Monday in Match 39 of the Indian Premier League, it presented an opportunity for the team to enjoy local food in a city known for its incredible food. Mohammed Siraj and his family were in for a big surprise when captain Virat Kohli made a visit to their house in Hyderabad on Sunday night. RCB team members, including Kohli, sat on the floor and enjoyed the dinner in typical Hyderabadi style.
Siraj, son of an auto-rickshaw driver, gained fame after he was was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad at the IPL 2017 auction for a whopping Rs 2.6 crore. While IPL got him recognition, Siraj feels that it’s his hard work in the Ranji Trophy during the 2016-17 season for Hyderabad that has resulted in all the success that he has got.
His IPL fame was followed by a call-up to the Indian team. The lanky fast bowler made his India debut in a T20I against New Zealand in November last year.
In this year’s auction, Siraj was picked up by RCB for Rs 1 crore.
