Bhoopalapally: Telangana State government’s prestigious project Kaleswaram works were stalled for the last nine days due to heavy rains lashing out in Telangana and Maharashtra States. The works of Medigadda, Annaram barrages and Kennepally Pump House, Gravity Canal were also stalled in Jayashankar Bhoopalapally district.
The police and engineering officials were initiating steps to protect the barrage works as the water reached inside the barrages of Medigadda, Annaram of Kaleswaram project. The officials shifted the workers and equipments to the safe places as part of precautionary measures to ensure that there won’t be any untoward incidents. At Medigadda barrage, the overflow of water was 6,34,375 cusecs and 7,37,500 cusecs of water at Kannepally was recorded.
The officials were afraid of a danger to the copper dam constructed for the works of Medigadda barrage works. Seepage took place with the huge flood current and water was reaching to the place of barrage. The engineering officials were striving hard to control the water flow into the barrage area. (NSS)
