Her connection with her parents had deteriorated, so she traveled to Chevella to reside with her sister’s family. She resorted to sleeping at the bus stop because there was no other way to get to her village. Tragically, her fragile state was not overlooked by two people. The claimed perpetrators, Anil Kumar and Rajulu, who worked at a neighboring food shop, saw her drunken state. They took advantage of the situation and sexually assaulted her, each taking turns doing so.
The Chevella police department responded quickly to this heinous crime. On October 16, 2023, a complaint was filed, and the defendants, Anil Kumar and Rajulu, were detained by law enforcement. The two accused have now been held in judicial detention until the outcome of their legal processes.
