Hyderabad: Some 200 sleuths of the Income Tax department once again raided the offices of Navayuga Engineering Company Limited at Jubilee Hills and Somajiguda on Thursday and seized some incriminating documents along with a hard disk drive’s. The IT officials enquired about the companies related to Navayuga during the raids and verified IT returns that were filed for the last four years apart from various projects that were taken up by the company in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and elsewhere in the country. The company has taken up the construction of Polavaram irrigation project in Andhra Pradesh too.
Based on the information that the company has violated various norms, the Registrar of Companies (RoC) conducted raids at the company a few months ago and enquired about the shell companies allegedly involved in money laundering. In 2012, the IT officials conducted similar searches at the city offices of Navayuga group along with the residences of the company top brass. These raids were carried as part of the nation-wide searches at the company. (NSS)
