Hyderabad: Sleuths of the Income Tax department on Wednesday raided the corporate offices of the Sri Chaitanya and Narayana educational institutions. The raids were being held in Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
Eight teams of IT sleuths are taking part in the raids. The raids were being carried out following reports that the two corporate educational institutions were charging huge amounts of money from the students. The sleuths also seized the laptops and hard disks and other records from their possession. The two educational groups are operating colleges in eight states of the country.
The IT raids, which were confined to only the residences of politicians and industrialists, have now been expanded to the educational institutions.
