One of the favorite celeb couples, Virushka aka Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma welcomed their first child in the world on Monday as the actress gave birth to a girl. The proud father posted a happy update on his social media handle on January 11th to share the news with his fans and loved ones.
The post was followed immediately with tons of messages from followers and family members, wishing the couple over the good news.
Virat Kohli’s brother Vikas Kohli and sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra were one of the first people to congratulate the duo and share celebratory posts dedicated to the new “angel of the house”, as termed by Vikas.
The Indian captain’s brother wrote, “Happiness overboard”, while Bhawna posted saying, “So happy to be a bua of a beautiful little angel. Congratulations, proud parents Virat and Anushka.”
The rejoiced new parents took to their social media accounts to make the announcement as Virat updated his fans that both the mother and their baby girl were doing well healthwise. Attached to this was a request seeking privacy. “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers, and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time,” the cricketer wrote.
The internet was flooded with the baby image shared by Vikas Kohli getting circulated widely over social media as the daughter of Virushka. However, though misquoted by various publications, a simple reverse Google search shows that the picture is one of the hundreds of thousands of pictures present on StockImages and does not belong to the celeb baby herself.
As the fake news kept getting viral, Vikas took it on himself to clear the misunderstanding. He wrote on his Instagram stories- “Guys let me clarify that the picture I posted yesterday to congratulate Virat and Anushka is a random picture and not an actual picture of the baby, as some media channels are reporting,”
The couple got married in 2017 in a hushed affair with close family and friends. They disclosed their pregnancy news in mid-2020 with a caption that revealed the baby will be born in January 2021.
On the work front, the new parents have taken a break from their respective fields as Anushka Sharma starred last in ‘Zero’ with costars Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif while Virat Kohli took paternity leave after playing the first test match. He skipped the other 3 that were a part of the 4-match tour of Australia. He came back home to be with his wife, Anushka Sharma, a few weeks prior to the baby’s arrival in the world.
