TRS leaders today criticized the Centre for suppressing the farmers by asking them to set up power meters at the farm wells.
Addressing media persons here at TRS Legislature Party office, Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy accused the BJP Government at the Centre of indulging in anti-farmers policies. He said the Centre issued related orders to set up meters in three years at the farm wells across all States. The State Government was offering 24-hour free power to farmers to push agriculture production and get rid of loans. Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima schemes were being offered by only the Telangana State government in the country, he claimed.
Jagadish Reddy slammed Union Minister G Kishan Reddy for failing to respond properly on the power meters issue. The minister alleged that the State BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjya Kumar has no knowledge on several issues and was carrying out a misinformation campaign against the government. “If that is the case, why Kishan Reddy, a senior politician, is unable to understand the situation and come to the rescue of the farmers instead of suppressing”, Jagadish Reddy asked. He also criticized the Centre for such failure policies as three farm laws were repealed for the polls in five States, he charged. These schemes in the State are to help the farmers to avoid loan problems and ensure their benefit, he claimed. He also attributed the schemes to the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Jagadish Reddy asked the BJP and TPCC chief Revanth Reddy to desist from false campaigns in the State focusing on welfare and development. As KCR criticized, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not supporting the States and destroying the nation in all sectors, he fumed. The Modi Government deliberately ignored giving the State Rs 24,000 crore towards Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya programs, he charged.
Though Niti Ayog recommended funds, the Modi Government denied these to the State. He reiterated that the BJP Government was hostile against Telangana development and showing partiality by denying funds and projects. The BJP should come to an open debate on these issues and development done in the State, he challenged.
