Hyderabad: Caretaker Minister G Jagadish Reddy today lambasted the Andhra Parties for forging an alliance in the upcoming elections to take on the ruling TRS party.
Addressing a public meeting in Nalgonda along with caretaker Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy, MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy, Ravindra Naik and others, Jagadish slammed that the Andhra parties which prevented the statehood for Telangana are now back in action with a conspiracy to stall progress and growth of the State, he felt. The Mahakootami parties which had secret pacts, he said, were hatching plots against Rythu Bandhu and distribution of Bathukamma sarees among farmers and women respectively. Though these two schemes are old ones and popular, the Opposition Congress was complaining to the Election Commission and moving courts, he fumed.
“The people should understand as to why the Congress was forging an unethical alliance with its arch rival Telugu Desam”, he questioned. “They never in the past developed our region and now coming in the way of the progress and rapid growth in the State witnessed during the four and half years of TRS rule, he averred.
The TRS government has spent about Rs 50 lakh to Rs one crore to develop roads in Devarakonda segment with five reservoirs, Jagadish said. And voting in favour of the grand alliance comprising the Congress, the TD and the CPI will put a halt to the development works going on he warned. “We have been making efforts to complete the projects to ensure that every inch of the farm land turns green through water on time, he said.
