Hyderabad: YSR Congress Party president and Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jagan mohanReddy who suffered a knife injury inflicted by a canteen boy in the Visakhapatnam airport lounge on Thursday, was discharged from the City Neuro Hospital in city. He was advised rest till the wound healed.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, Dr Siva Reddy said the condition of the YSRCP chief remained stable. He said Jagan was given a pain killer injection on Thursday night when Jagan complained of pain. The gaping injury on Jagan’s left shoulder was closed by three sutures and it will take some time to heal, he said, adding that his blood samples were sent to a laboratory. Dr Reddy said Jagan will have to visit the hospital again till the injury was completely healed.

It may be recalled that YS Jagan was attacked by Srinivas Rao, a waiter at the airport lounge cafeteria. The attacker attempted to stab Jagan with a sharp knife on pretext of taking a selfie with him. He was administered first-aid after which he left for Hyderabad where he was admitted to the Citi Nero Hospital in Banjara Hills.

As the news of attack on Jagan, a large number of YSRCP workers, leaders, supporters and the general public thronged the hospital to get a glimpse of the YSRCP chief. Jagan proceeded to his residence at Lotus Pond nearby. (NSS)
