Jagan takes part in BC Kranthi celebrations

Vijayawada: The Chief Minister of the state YS Jaganmohan Reddy today took part in the BC Kranthi celebrations held at Indira Gandhi municipal stadium.

Speaking on the occasion he said that he took oath as the chief minister of the state in the same stadium 18 months back. He said that he was happy to note that BC women were in large numbers in the BC corporations of the state. He is that it was the first time in the country that so many BC women got half of the total posts in the corporations. He made it clear that BCs were not backward classes and added that they were a backbone of the culture of the state. He alleged that the past government had broken the backbone of the BCs of the state. He said that they were fulfilling all the promises made to the BCs of the state one after the other. He said that of the five deputy chief ministers of the state four belonged to SC, ST, BC, and minority communities. He also said that they had given 60 percent of cabinet ministers to the weaker sections of the state.

Reddy said that the speaker of the assembly also belonged to the BC community and added that they had given two out of four Rajya Sabha MP seats to the BCS. The CM has also said that they had provided 50 percent reservations in nominated posts. He also said that they had fulfilled 90 percent of the promises in just 18 months’ time.
