Hyderabad: Stating that the statement of former President of France made it clear that Rafale scam was true, AICC spokesperson S Jaipal Reddy has demanded an explanation from the BJP government at the Centre on the former’s statement that they had accepted the deal under the pressure of the Modi government.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Jaipal Reddy said what the Congress was saying all these days has proved correct. He also alleged that Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Nirmala Seetharaman spoke lies in Parliament on the Rafale deal. He also demanded that Jaitley and Niramala tender resignation for misleading the nation. Reliance Ambani was a broker to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he alleged.
The former Union minister said the fall of Narendra Modi has started with the Rafale deal. The Rafale agreement was signed without the knowledge of then Defence Minister Parrikkar, who admitted it. Jaipal Reddy alleged that Rafale was a big scam in the history of the nation. Ambani will get benefited by Rs 1 lakh crore with the Rafale deal in four years, he said. While there was no minister along with Prime Minister in Rs 1 lakh crore Rafale deal, only Ambani was present there. He also said Modi was not opening his mouth thinking that he will be exposed with the Rafale deal.
Accusing Modi of helping others to loot thousands of crores of rupees with his crony capitalism, Jaipal Reddy asked Modi as to why he was not making the transaction public if the Congress party’s allegations were not true. He said Jaitley was a lawyer to Modi but not to the nation and Congress argument on Rafale deal should be transparent. He also asked why the Union government handed over the Rafale deal to Ambani instead of the HAL. The previous governments provided share to the HAL in all Defence agreements, he remembered. (NSS)
