The US President Joe Biden on Friday has marked another day for history. He has marked a leader guiding his administration to audit and deliver a few records about the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) regarding September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in the US.
Justice Department, Other Federal Agencies To Disclose Information Over Six Months
The order signed by US President Joe Biden directs the Justice Department and other federal agencies to review the documents concerned with the 9/11 attacks. The information will be released over the next six months.
Biden said in a statement that they must never forget the pain that the families and the loved ones of the 2,977 innocent people had to go through. He further said that it was the worst terrorist attack in US history.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff said that the panel would oversee the review to ensure that the agencies adhere to the President’s guidance. They will ensure that the agencies will apply the maximum degree of transparency allowed by the law while conducting the review.
A number of families of 9/11 attack victims have for years pushed the government to declassify and make public more information around the event.
Taliban Denies Osama Bin Laden’s Role in 9/11 Attacks
The above order comes after the Taliban recently claimed that Osama Bil Laden was not involved in the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US. They claimed that Laden was used as an excuse by the US to wage war against Afghanistan.
The Taliban spokesman Zabibullah Mujahid said in an interview with the NCB that even after 20 years of the war, there is no evidence that links Laden to the involvement with the 9/11 attacks.
