Joe Biden Announces Military Withdrawal From Afghanistan
Earlier this year, Biden announced that they will be withdrawing all the American troops from Afghanistan soil by September 2021. The aim is to end the country’s longest war which lasted for over two decades.
Biden addressed the press to announce the same. He said that the forces deployed by their North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) allies and other operational partners will be withdrawing their forces from Afghanistan.
The announcement came after Joe Biden went to the Arlington National Cemetery to pay respects to the American soldiers who had lost their lives in the Afghanistan war in 2001. While talking to the media, he said that the decision to withdraw the troops was absolutely clear to him. He knew that they had spent two decades in getting rid of Al Qaeeda Chief Osama Bin Laden who is now in safe haven.
