According to the latest reports, MLA’s son has been arrested for his involvement in the Jubilee Hills gang rape case. CV Anand, the city police commissioner, announced the arrest of the sixth accused in the Jubilee Hills gang rape case.
In a statement to the media, he said that the sixth accused was not involved in the crime but was present in the Mercedes Benz, one of the cars used during the crime.
The sixth suspect was also a minor and has been booked under Section 354, 323 and Section 9G of the POCSO Act. In addition, all the suspects have been booked under the IT Act for circulating intimate videos taken by them while in the Mercedes Benz car.
Up until Tuesday, the police had listed five accused persons as suspects in the crime, but on Tuesday a sixth person was added to their list.
It was also confirmed that the five accused who gang-raped the victim would be judged accordingly. CP said they will either receive the death penalty or be imprisoned for life.
Four minors and one major were taken into custody earlier by the police. The Juvenile Justice Board has sent the four minors to observation homes.
Additionally, the CP said that BJP workers had access to the leaked videos. He came to know about the videos only after BJP workers leaked them. On being asked how the BJP obtained the video, the CP replied, “They (BJP leaders) are the only ones who know.”
A boy from Bengaluru wanted to host a party at Insomnia in Jubilee Hills a few months ago. According to the police, the minor wanted a place without alcohol. The party was called ‘Euphoria’. Entry fees ranged from Rs.900 to Rs.1200. The victim paid Rs.1300 to attend.
The crime occurred on Jubilee Hills Road No. 40, behind the Pedda Amma Temple. The boys took turns raping the girl in the car. The minors drove both the Mercedes Benz and the Innova.
The official driver of the car was instructed to get down at Concu bakery. According to police, the crime was committed in an Innova vehicle hired by the government for official purposes.
