Hyderabad : Former judge of Supreme Court Justice V. Ramaswami passed away this morning. He was 87.
Ailing for some time, Justice Ramaswami breathed his last at his house on Wednesday morning. He worked as judge of Supreme Court from 1989 to 1994. Earlier, he served as Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court.
Ramaswami began his career by practicing both civil and criminal law at the Madras High Court. He was appointed permanent Judge of the Madras High Court from January 31, 1971. He was later transferred and appointed Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court on November 12, 1987. He was elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court on October 6, 1989 from which he retired on February 1994. (NSS)
