Juvenile among three held for highway robbery

Hyderabad: In the early hours of today, the Central Zone police, along with Ramgopalpet police, arrested three persons, including a juvenile in connection with a robbery case and recovered net cash Rs 400, one mobile phone and a Bajaj Platina two-wheeler from their possession.

The accused were identified as MD Amer, 20, working as watchman at the Telangana Secretariat and residing at Yellamma Temple near DBR BMills, Lower Tank Bund; Birru Nikhil, 18, electrician, residing at Rajgopal Residency, Lower Tankbund, Gandhi nagar and a juvenile.

Police said while police constable B. Vidya Sagar was on patrolling duty under Ramgopalpet PS limits heard hue and cry of a person with bleeding head injury near Sanjeevaiah Park on Necklese Road and rushed to the spot. On enquiry, the victim revealed his name as Y. Thimmappa, 22, working at Necklase View Hotel as a room boy and informed that three persons waylaid him and beat him with bricks and robbed him of his cell phone and Rs 400.

The PC chased the trio and stopped their vehicle and caught accused along with a stolen mobile and cash and immediately called Ramgopalpet PS and handed over the accused and shifted the victim to hospital. The police recovered cash of Rs 400, one celkon mobile and one Bajaj Platina two-wheeler from the possession of accused. (NSS)
