Kannada Actor Darshan Arrested in Connection with Renuka Swamy Murder Case

On Tuesday morning, renowned Kannada actor Darshan was taken into custody by Mysuru police in connection with a murder case. The actor was arrested from his farmhouse in Mysuru and is accused of involvement in the murder of Renuka Swamy. Along with Darshan, ten others were also arrested.

According to reports, after being taken from his farmhouse, Darshan is being transported back to Bengaluru for further questioning. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) confirmed that the 47-year-old actor was apprehended due to his alleged involvement in the case. Darshan is a well-known figure in the Kannada film industry, recognized for his roles in films such as “Anatharu” (2007), “Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna” (2012), and “Kaatera” (2023).

The police reported that the victim, Renuka Swamy, was murdered on June 8. Her body was discovered in a drain near Kamakshipalya on June 9. Renuka Swamy hailed from Chitradurga, a town over 200 km from Karnataka’s capital, Bengaluru. The victim’s parents are currently on their way to the Kamakshipalya police station, according to the police.
