Karnataka Hijab Row: Students Defy Government Orders, Wears Hijab For Classes

As per the latest reports, the Karnataka hijab row is probably going to proceed as the students have chosen to go to the classes wearing a Hijab regardless of the state government forbidding it on the school grounds.

Can’t Ruin School Environment Over Hijab Row

The issue is bound to be blown into a significant discussion as February 1 (Tuesday) is commended as World Hijab Day. Sources said that students will come to the school yet will not avoid hijab to go to classes. On Monday, MLA Raghupathy Bhat, in the wake of holding a gathering at the Government Girls Pre-University College in Udupi, said the students who are fighting for wearing hijab to study halls are being told to come to the school grounds provided that they evade it.

“In any case, we have plainly told them not to come to the school and ruin the academic environment,” he said. Then again, the students have moved an appeal to the High Court looking for alleviation in such a manner.

“We have told them plainly that they can come to school provided that they disregard the hijab. You can’t come to the premises of the school and ruin the school’s academic environment. We have additionally informed police with respect to the section of media and different associations into the grounds,” he expressed.

“In an additional 2 months tests will be held. Guardians are grumbling that consistently, global media other than different Muslim and Hindu associations are visiting. There will be no access to the school from Tuesday. They can present the reminder to the Deputy Commissioner, he said.

He further informed that there is an administration request. The eventual fate of 1,000 students is in question. It has been said that assuming the students are coming to school, they can come assuming they will go to classes without a hijab. In any case, don’t come to the school itself. There is no space for disarray any longer. Whoever follows discipline lets them come to school.

In the interim, one among the students who are fighting requesting consent to go to classes with hijab has moved to the state High Court looking for alleviation. Resham Farooq, the understudy has mentioned presentation of the wearing of the hijab as a fundamental right under articles 14 and 25 of the Indian constitution.
