Kazipet Shocker: Scooter with 233 Challans Worth ₹45,350 Caught, Value Less Than ₹20,000

In a startling incident, Kazipet Traffic Police uncovered a major traffic violation when they stopped a scooter with an unbelievable 233 pending challans totaling ₹45,350—more than double the vehicle’s current market value.

The discovery was made by Traffic Circle Inspector Venkanna during routine vehicle inspections. The two-wheeler, bearing registration number AP12 – G 8379, had been violating traffic rules since 2016, evading enforcement across Karimnagar, Hyderabad, and Warangal.

The rider, who identified himself as Aslam, was not the registered owner of the vehicle. Official records showed the vehicle belonged to Venugopal Yadav. Most of the fines were related to riding without a helmet, though the violations also included failure to produce documents like pollution certificates, driving license, RC book, and insurance.

What left authorities baffled was how the scooter, despite having so many pending challans, had avoided seizure for nearly a decade. The fact that its market value was less than ₹20,000 only added to the irony.

The case not only exposed a blatant disregard for traffic laws but also highlighted gaps in enforcement mechanisms that allowed the rider to go unnoticed for years.

Authorities say this serves as a strong reminder that flouting traffic rules comes with consequences, and enforcement is tightening up to ensure such repeat offenders are brought to book.
