KCR has copied Congress manifesto points: Gudur

Hyderabad : Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy has accused caretaker Chief Minister and TRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao of copying the important points of Congress manifesto.

“Congress party has won the elections even before the polling on December 7. By copying almost all points from the draft manifesto of Congress party, KCR has conceded defeat. While Congress party came up with proposals like doubling the Aasra pension amount after getting feedback from the people, KCR simply copied it and just added Rs. 16 to suit his superstitious beliefs in numerology. Similarly, KCR copied the promise of Unemployment Allowance to jobless youth and just added Rs. 16 to Rs. 3,000 already promised by Congress party. By doing so, KCR has not proved himself a copycat, but also displayed his mental bankruptcy,” said Gudur Narayana Reddy.

Gudur Narayana Reddy said that the Congress party had promised to reduce the eligibility age for Old Age Pension to 58 years on par with government employees. To beat this, KCR reduced the age by one more year to 57 years which is completely illogical. “KCR has already lost people’s trust and no one believes him anymore. He did not fulfil any of the promises he had made in 2014 and all the promises which he is making now will meet the same fate,” he said.

The Congress leader also ridiculed KCR’s contention that PRC for employees was not announced due to Model Code of Conduct. “KCR had assured to announce Interim Relief (IR) on June 2, State Formation Day. He had also announced the setting up of a new PRC with a mandate to submit its report a week before August 15 this year so the announcement could be made on Independence Day. KCR missed these deadlines and dissolved the Assembly on September 6. Therefore, KCR should be ashamed of himself for making such a false claim. Nearly 4 lakh employees and 2.5 lakh pensioners are not blind or insane to trust KCR’s words,” he said.

“It is strange that the TRS Manifesto was announced by KCR himself and not Dr. K. Keshava Rao, the chairman of Manifesto Committee. This shows that the TRS is an individual-centric and family-centric party,” he said.
