Transgenders was injured and another killed when the mob lynched them at Hafez Baba Nagar area near Chandrayangutta.
According to the sources about 200 people were attacked four transgenders and pelted stones on them. The attack took place after suspecting on them, following rumors of a certain notorious kidnapping and burglary gang moving around the area which was shared on the social media by some miscreants.
Injured were shifted to Osmania Hospital where one transgender succumbed to his injuries.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Zone) DCP V. Satyanarayana rushed the spot to control the situation, and also said that four transgenders came to the city by train and got down at Falaknuma Railway Sation. When they were proceeding to DRDL road, people attacked them by thinking they were the kidnappers, he added.
