King Salman bin Abdulaziz praised the outcomes of US President Donald Trump’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, describing it as a “historic step forward” in strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the strategic and economic sectors.
Presiding over the weekly Cabinet session in Jeddah, the King thanked President Trump for accepting the Kingdom’s invitation and highlighted the productive discussions held with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. These talks, he said, are expected to elevate Saudi-US cooperation to “an unprecedented level.”
The Cabinet emphasized the importance of the Strategic Economic Partnership agreement signed between the two countries, alongside investment deals exceeding $300 billion, as key milestones in deepening their alliance.
Ministers also welcomed the US’s positive engagement with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s diplomatic efforts to lift sanctions on Syria. The Cabinet expressed optimism that easing these sanctions would aid reconstruction efforts and promote long-term stability in the region.
Additionally, the Council reiterated Saudi Arabia’s firm opposition to any forced displacement of the Palestinian people and called for the continuation of the ceasefire in Gaza.
The session concluded with praise for Saudi students who achieved notable success at the International Science and Engineering Fair and included a review of the latest developments in the Kingdom’s industrial and humanitarian sectors.
