Kodandaram urges people to vote for Match Box

Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi president Prof. Kodandaram today unveiled his party symbol allotted by the Election Commission to his party. The EC allotted “Match box with stick” symbol to the party.

Addressing the media here today, Prof. Kodandaram called upon the people in the State to vote for his party symbol in the upcoming elections. He said the manifesto of his party was also ready. He said they had sent the manifesto for the approval of the Election Commission.

“We will release our party’s manifesto once we get the approval of the EC,” he said. Commenting on the discussions being held among the Mahakutami partners, Prof. Kodandaram expressed doubts over the ongoing discussions. He, however added that he was confident of concluding the discussions with the alliance partners very soon. “We are going to meet with all the alliance partners once again. We will finalize the seats and conclude the discussions. We have already asked the major ally of the alliance, the Congress party, to concede 10 Assembly seats  to our party. We are now planning to ask for another 2 to 3 seats during our upcoming discussions,” he said.

Speaking further on the issue, the TJS president said the people of the State had realized the importance of the formation of the grand alliance. They know that the alliance was formed to defeat the “feudalistic” rule being witnessed by the State to fulfill the aspirations of the people. “We are confident that wide promotion of the manifesto of the grand alliance would usher in a required change in the mindset of people. We all want to end the “autocratic” rule of KCR and fulfill the aspirations of the people of the State.

“The civil society organizations should also not become mute spectators and they should also react and support the grand alliance to defeat the TRS party,” he said, adding that they would take another alliance partner CPI along with them to achieve their goal. (NSS)
