KTR invited to “Global Climate Action Summit”

Hyderabad: IT & MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao today received an invitation from the US to address “Global Climate Action Summit” to be held in California from September 12 to 14. California Governor Edmund G Brown has extended the invitation of global climate action summit to be held for four days.

A release from the Minister’s Office said the invitation has appealed to him to speak on “Future of Energy and Transport Systems” in the international summit. The invitation appealed to the delegates to talk on the steps being taken up by their respective governments in various States and countries on climate changes, atmosphere, pollution and related issues. In the invitation, the minister was asked to speak on the flagship Haritha Haram program and other future programs being planned for creating pollution-free environment and ecological balance.

The invitation has stated that the global summit will create awareness on weather conditions and environment by involving all stakeholders, governments, experts and enable policy makers to come up with suggestions for addressing the related problems. Researchers on weather and atmosphere and important persons will attend the global summit and give their presentation, the note added. The minister is to attend the “Global Climate Action Summit” in September second week. (NSS)
