Responding to Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s claim that the Congress had brought the Metro to Hyderabad, Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said Vikramarka boasted about the Congress government’s achievements in 55 years, but unfortunately the people had made him sit in the Opposition benches.
“I have doubts whether he will sit in the Opposition benches next time or will have to move out of the House,” he said.
In reply to the CLP leader’s claims that Congress would come to power in the state in nine months, the Minister in a lighter vein replied: “In nine months, children are born but it is tough for you to come to power.”
In response to the Metro Rail advertisement monopoly charges levelled by the CLP leader, the Minister said it was the Congress government that floated tenders under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode.
According to the terms, the contractor can generate 50 per cent revenue through commercialization of lands allotted, 45 per cent through ticket sales and five per cent through advertisement, he said.

KTR calls Congress and BJP anarchical forces
KT Rama Rao on Friday called the Congress and BJP as “anarchical forces,” and urged the people to never allow these parties to rule the state.
Rama Rao was referring to TPCC president A Revanth Reddy’s comments on demolishing Pragathi Bhavan, the official residence of the Chief Minister, and BJP State president Bandi Sanjay’s announcement that the BJP if voted to power, would demolish the domes on the newly-constructed Secretariat complex named after Dr BR Ambedkar.
The minister was addressing the State Assembly when he said: “While we are working to build, develop and progress, one of them is telling people to dig graves and the other to demolish with bombs. Anarchical forces. I urge fellow members to give it a thought on what would happen to this State if it goes into the hands of these anarchical forces. I appeal to the people of Telangana, the peaceful State, not to put it in the hands of these fools by rejecting their politics,” Rama Rao said.
