Hyderabad: Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao today made a surprise visit to Basthi Dawakhana at Shyamlal Bulding in Begumpet here and expressed satisfaction over the health services being offered to the patients. GHMC is maintaining Basthi Dawakhanas in the city to cater to the local people needs.
KTR inspected facilities in the hospital and interacted with the patients. He took a child and spoke to them about health services and facilities being available in the Basthi Dawakhana. When he asked, the officials informed that they are shifting serious patients to nearby primary health care centers and government hospitals. We plan to put in place 1000 Basthi Dawakhanas to provide timely health services to the people in the basthis in the city. The GHMC is ready to provide more equipment and facilities for these local dispensaries, he said. In addition to the facilities it is being planned to set up diagnostic centers and test samples to give message to phone numbers or email ids of the patients, he said. The functioning of Basthi Dawakhanas is good and the patients coming here are expressing contentment, he added.(NSS)
