Hyderabad: TRS working president and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao is to hold a key meeting with party seniors on Saturday. He will discuss the use of the votes of ex-officio members to select Mayors and chairpersons whenever necessary. Results of 129 ULBs polls, will be declared on January 25 and the selection of mayors and chairpersons will be held on the following days.
According to the information, KTR, on his return from Davos meet of the World Economic Forum conference, will hold a meeting to discuss the election of Mayors and chairpersons for 129 urban local bodies. The TRS working president will chair the meeting at Telangana Bhavan at around 10 am. The TRS leadership hopes to win over 90 percent seats in the polls.
The TRS has six Rajya Sabha members, nine Lok Sabha members, and 32 MLCs. As ex-officio members, they will cast their votes to select Mayors and chairpersons. The Election Commission said the election of mayors and chairpersons will be held on January 26 and 27 after the declaration of poll results.
