KTR welcomes French Govt’s decision to open ‘House of France’ in Hyderabad

On Thursday, Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao (KTR) welcomed the French government’s decision to open a “House of France” in the city.

KTR met with French leaders at the Taj Krishna in Hyderabad. The minister spoke about Telangana’s progressive industrial policies and investment opportunities.

“Pleasure to meet French Ambassador Lenain @FranceinIndia and CG Thierry Berthelot,” KTR wrote on Twitter. “Welcome French government’s decision to open new ‘House of France’ in Hyderabad in recognition of the strong and growing business & people to people ties between France and Telangana,” he added.

KTR met with French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain and French Consul General to Hyderabad Thierry Berthelot earlier today. KTR also offered ease of doing business with the TS-iPASS industrial policy, which provided required clearances in 15 days based on self-certification by companies, in addition to listing the numerous opportunities for investment that Telangana provided, ranging from technology, life sciences, automobiles, food processing, and several other domains.

“Many investors prefer to invest in Delhi, Mumbai, or Bengaluru.” We encourage investors to come through Hyderabad. “We match or exceed the support provided by other states,” he added.

KTR briefed the French business delegation on Telangana’s success in attracting companies such as Google, Microsoft, Meta, Qualcomm, Uber, SalesForce, Apple, Novartis, Safran, and Sanofi.

KTR also mentioned a cultural hub for technology, vaccines, startups, aerospace and defense manufacturing, SMEs, and more, noting that the state government was collaborating with industry to ensure a steady supply of trained labor.

After the Paris-based Station-F, the state established T-Hub, the largest startup incubator. The state also established WE-Hub to assist female entrepreneurs and T-Works, a prototyping facility, to assist startups in developing new products.

According to Emmanuel Lenain, France’s ambassador in India, many French companies have prioritized Telangana for investment.

“Safran is establishing an engine MRO here. Sanofi has big plans as well. The Telangana state team follows through on its promises,” he said.
