Kukatpally MLA Warns Against HYDRAA Harassment, Citing Bangladesh Example

Kukatpally BRS MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao has issued a strong warning against the harassment of poor communities in Hyderabad under the guise of HYDRAA (Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection) operations. He cautioned that such actions could lead to severe consequences, similar to those faced by the Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh.

During his visit to the Hasmathpet Boin Cheruvu area in Old Bowenpally , accompanied by Corporator Muddam Narsimhayadav, the MLA addressed local residents and highlighted the distress they experience during weekends due to “threats” from HYDRAA officials.

Krishna Rao emphasized that the poor should not be targeted, asserting that any attempts to intimidate or harass them would not be tolerated. His comments come in the wake of notices issued by HYDRAA authorities to residents in Padmavati Nagar, located near Kukatpally Sunna Cheruvu.

The MLA’s visit also included interactions with residents of the Harijan Basti, where he expressed his solidarity and commitment to protect vulnerable communities from “undue pressure and intimidation.”

The MLA’s warning underscores the growing concerns about the potential for abuse of power by HYDRAA officials, particularly in marginalized areas of Hyderabad. His reference to the situation in Bangladesh serves as a stark reminder of the consequences that can arise from such actions.
