Lakhimpur Kheri Case: SIT Files 5000 Page Charge Sheet

In the latest update regarding the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the October 2021, on Monday filed an almost 5,000-page charge sheet.

14 Other Named In The Case

Ashish Mishra, the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni, has been blamed for the situation. Ashish Mishra, who has effectively been arrested, was named as the prime accused for the situation, as indicated by sources.

Further, the number of blame for the situation expanded to 14 as another name has been added.

“The name of another individual, Virendra Shukla, has been included the charge sheet. He has been charged under Section 201 of IPC,” the arraignment legal advisor said.

An aggregate of eight individuals were killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri savagery episode which occurred on October 3, 2021 during a farmers’ dissent against the now-revoked three disputable agriculture laws.

Among the dead were four farmers, a journalist, two BJP laborers and a driver. An aggregate of 13 people are charged for the situation, including Ashish Mishra and previous Union Minister Akhilesh Das’ nephew Ankit Das.

All the 13 accused, including drivers of the three SUVs and partners of Mishra and Das, will be locked up and are presently held up in the Lakhimpur Kheri prison.

Allahabad High Court Yet To Accept Bail Plea

While the Allahabad High Court is yet to accept an approach the bail use of Ashish Mishra, the bail requests of the other blamed are forthcoming under the steady gaze of a nearby court in Lakhimpur Kheri.

The SIT had as of late mentioned a neighborhood court to add two charges for the situation, endeavor to kill and intentionally causing terrible hurt, against Ashish Mishra and the 12 other blamed. The court had conceded the SIT’s supplication and requested the expansion of the charges, including under segments of the Arms Act.

The SIT had said in a report submitted to the court that the four farmers and the columnist were killed in the brutality as a feature of a “pre-arranged intrigue”.

The SIT wrote in the report that the deaths didn’t happen because of negligence, and that the charged people’s activities were “deliberate with an intention to kill”.
