The long-time adviser to the United States President Donald Trump and also a counselor to the white house Kellyanne Conway announced that she is stepping down from her post to focus on her family.
“This is completely my choice and my voice.” Quoted by the Xinhua news agency, Conway as she said in her announcement on Sunday.
“In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama”, she continued.
The 53-year-old woman, Conway, was Trump’s campaign manager in 2016
She performed duties in her White House role since the start of the administration and was recognized as a fierce defender of the President.
On top of that, on Sunday, Kellyanne’s husband, George Conway, who is a forthright critic of the US President, tweeted separately that he would withdraw from his role with the Lincoln Project, which is a group of anti- Trump republicans, for similar reasons as his wife.
“We disagree about plenty, but we are united on what matters most: the kids” Kellyanne was quoted saying.
In the announcement, Conway named her time in the White House “heady and “humbling”.
She expressed her gratitude towards the President, First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President Mike Pence And second lady Karen Pence, and offered commandment for their work during the administration’s first term.
Kellyanne is expected to speak at the 2020 republican National Convention this week.
Conway managed to defend Donald Trump through some of his most controversial and debatable moments, The Hell news website mentioned this in a report.
Not long after Trump’s inauguration, Conway defended then-press Sean Spicer’s imprecise declaration about the crowd size by stating that he was providing “alternative facts”.
Kellyanne was also known to be one of the most egregious violators of the Hatch Act, which forbids executive branch officials from using their official positions for campaigning.
