In preparation for the upcoming Hajj season, the Makkah Municipality has approved 3,149 official housing permits after completing all necessary technical and regulatory evaluations. This measure is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-regulated environment for pilgrims during their spiritual journey.
Officials stated that the approval process involved strict adherence to a comprehensive set of conditions. These include compliance with original building permits and approved architectural plans, detailed reviews of safety and fire preparedness reports, verification of emergency staircases and power generators, and confirmation of active maintenance contracts. Additionally, staff working at the accommodations have undergone training in safety protocols.
Municipal teams also cross-verified each housing facility’s documentation with aerial imagery to ensure accuracy and transparency, further solidifying the integrity of the approval process.
