A woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in Balapur late Tuesday night, following a heated argument over suspicions of infidelity. The accused, Zakir Ahmed (31), is currently on the run, and police have launched a manhunt to nab him.
The deceased, Naziya Begum (30), was working with an event management company and had recently moved with her husband and three children from Golconda to Green City Colony in Balapur, where they were living in a rented house.
According to Balapur Inspector M Sudhakar, the couple had frequent disputes, and on Tuesday night, a violent altercation erupted when Zakir accused his wife of maintaining an illegal relationship. In a fit of rage, Zakir allegedly attacked Naziya with a stick, inflicting fatal injuries.

Following the incident, Zakir reportedly called Naziya’s mother, Rubina, and confessed to the killing before fleeing the scene. Upon receiving a complaint, police reached the location, conducted preliminary inquiries, and shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and special teams have been formed to track down the absconding accused.
