Man Arrested for Online Embroidery Machine Fraud in Hyderabad

The Hyderabad Cybercrime police have arrested a man for allegedly cheating a buyer under the pretext of selling an embroidery machine online.

The accused, identified as Peketi Veerababu (30), a resident of SR Nagar and a native of Andhra Pradesh, had posted an online advertisement offering an embroidery machine for sale.

According to ACP Cybercrimes R G Siva Maruthi, a victim who came across the advertisement contacted Veerababu and expressed interest in buying the machine. Veerababu then asked the buyer to transfer ₹2.30 lakh online towards the cost of the machine.

However, after receiving the payment, Veerababu switched off his mobile phone, cutting off all communication with the buyer.

Following a police complaint, the Cybercrime Wing launched an investigation, tracked Veerababu, and arrested him for the fraud.

Authorities have urged citizens to exercise caution while making online purchases and avoid transferring money without proper verification.
