A man from Haryana’s Rohtak district, identified as Magan, tragically died by suicide on June 18, leaving behind a disturbing video holding his wife Divya and her alleged lover Deepak, a serving Maharashtra Police constable, responsible for his death.
Magan was found hanging from a tree by family members who began searching for him after coming across his suicide video on social media. In the video, he accused Divya and Deepak of mentally harassing him, exploiting him financially, and pressuring him to kill his own father for money.
Magan stated that he was being forced to sell family property and arrange ₹5 lakh as a bribe for Deepak’s police promotion. He said he couldn’t kill his father and chose to end his life instead. He also detailed giving ₹7 lakh in total through farm produce sales and mortgaging jewelry, yet claimed they continued to demand more money.

Magan’s family alleged that he had slipped into depression after receiving a video clip allegedly filmed by Deepak, showing Divya dancing in a hotel room and both being in a compromising position.
Further, Magan revealed that Divya had not legally divorced her first husband before marrying him and that she already had a son from her previous marriage. He said he helped her settle the earlier marriage dispute financially.
Before ending the video, Magan requested local political leaders to help ensure custody of his son stays with his parents, and also appealed to his sister Savita, a women’s rights activist, to fight for justice in his case.
The Rohtak Police have registered a case against Divya and Deepak under relevant sections. At the time of this report, no arrests had been made. Investigations are ongoing, and police are searching for both accused.
