Amidst the rising cases of Covid 19 across India, experts suggest that sudden drop in platelets in blood and sudden fatigue can also be the initial stages of being infected by the pandemic virus.
Medical Experts Warn of Initial Symptoms Being Fatal
As per the latest reports, Prof Santosh Kumar at the Respiratory Medicine Department KGMU said that it is common for the platelet count to drop in every viral infection.

Therefore, if someone experiences fatigue and exhaustion, they must not ignore it and get themselves tested for the Covid 19.
At the same time, Covid 19 continues to have general influenza-like symptoms. But the new symptoms also include diarrhoea, rashes, red eyes and fatigue.
Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences faculty Dr Vikram Singh said that extreme fatigue and malaise are the common symptoms of viral fever. And Covid 19 is also a type of viral, it is common for people to experience both the symptoms along with fever.
He said that a normal, healthy person will have a platelet count between 1.5 lakh to 4.5 lakh per litres of blood. But in some cases, the platelet count reached 75,000 to 85,000 per litre. The low platelet count can also be mistaken as dengue or some other disease.
The medical experts in Lucknow said that they have noted more than a dozen cases where the patients experienced extreme fatigue but didn’t consult a doctor. Following which, their condition continued to worsen. The blood test also showed a drastic drop in the platelet count. In some cases, patients developed breathing problems and some died without oxygen support.
