Hyderabad : Civil Supplies Department Consumer Help Desk has once again come to the rescue of medical victims. It solved the case in one month and helped victims to get Rs 3 lakh compensation. Santosha, 45, of Koudepally village in Medak district went to local Uma Nursing Home for Family Planning Operation. On March 20 this year, RMP Prabhakar, consultant at Uma Nursing Home, conducted Family Planning operation to Santosha. But on the very next day, the operation failed and Santosha died. She left behind three children of 6 years,3 years and
8 months old.
Due to the death of Santosha, her children became orphans and their maternal uncle Swamy (brother of Santosha) filed a case against RMP Prabhakar as his sister died of RMP’s negligence. But for legal fight, he had no economic support. At that time, he got to know about the Civil Supplies Department Consumer Help Desk, where victims can get legal aid at free of cost and approached it on September 22. Taking the issue seriously, the Consumer Help Desk sent a notice to RMP Prabhakar and solved the case in one month. As per the orders of Consumer Help Desk, the accused agreed to pay Rs 3 lakh to Santosha’s children. On Saturday, Civil Supplies Department Commissioner Akun Sabharwal handed over the compensation amount to the victims.
