Microsoft To Release Next Generation Windows On June 24; Cancels Windows 10X

In the technology world, Microsoft announced that they would be revealing the next generation of Windows operating systems on June 24, 2021. The Corporate Vice President, Modern Life, Search and Devices Group at Microsoft, Yusuf Mehdi confirmed in a tweet.

Microsoft CEO and Chief Product Officer to Present the New Windows Experience 

As per the media invite released by the company, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and the Chief Product Officer Panos Panay will present the new Windows experience. Furthermore, Nadella provided insights on the “next generation of Windows” during the “Build” developer conference.

The Microsoft CEO during his keynote address said that they will soon share some of the most significant updates to Windows of the past decade to unlock the greater economic opportunity for the developers and the creators. He said that he has been hosting it over from the past couple of months and is incredibly excited.

He further added that they promise to create more opportunities for the windows developer and welcome other creators who are looking forward to more innovations and new platforms. The aim is to encourage people to build, distribute and monetise applications.

Microsoft Cancels The Release of Windows 10X Operating System 

At the same time, Microsoft confirmed that they will not be releasing a lightweight and simplified Windows 10X operating system. The system which was built as a competition to the Chrome OS, it was first expected to come along with the new dual-screen devices like the Surface Neo. However, John Cable, head of Windows Servicing and Delivery announced the same in a blog posted last month.

He said that instead of bringing a product called Windows 10X in 2021 as they had originally planned. They are instead leveraging learnings from their journey. And further encouraging the integration of key foundational 10X technology into other parts of the Windows and products by the company.
