Hyderabad: The Joint Action Committee of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has announced the change in Venue of “One Million March” from Necklace Road to Dharna Chowk at Indira Park, Lower Tank Bund Road in Hyderabad on Saturday, January 4, from 2 pm onwards here today.
The Joint action committee of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh (JAC) had earlier planned to hold a “One Million March” at Necklace road on December 28, but Central zone Police had denied permission, on which the JAC approached Telangana High Court which directed the Hyderabad Hyderabad Police reconsider the application of JAC.
The JAC delegation made a fresh representation and today met Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar IPS, to expedite the process of police permission to hold the March, citing various reasons including an official program of Telangana special police at the same venue, the police did not agree for the Necklace road and suggested Dharna Chowk at Indira Park as alternate venue for protest march.
The organizers have agreed to shift the venue of One Million march from Necklace road to Dharna Chowk on January 4 from 2 PM.
“We have met the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner and other police officials, although they did not allow us to hold protest at Necklace road as an alternative they have agreed to accord permission for One Million March protest at Dharna Chowk, this event will be a history in the country against the CAA-NPR-NRC,” said, Mohammed Mushtaq Malik, Convenor of Joint Action Committee (JAC).
