The southwest monsoons will hit Telangana and other parts of Central India on or around June 18. With the monsoon hitting Kerala coast on Tuesday, the weatherman predicts the rainfall season to begin in the city on June 3 or June 4.
The weather in Kerala would be monitored over the next 24 hours. If it is indeed monsoon, it would move up towards Karnataka first, Tamil Nadu next, and Rayalaseema and Telangana thereafter. This movement could take five or six days.
Meteorological Department here on Tuesday warned that a thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds are likely to occur at isolated places in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar, Jagtial, Rajanna Siricilla, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Karimnagar, Manchiryal and Peddapally of Telangana during the next 24 hours.
The highest maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius was recorded at Cuddapah, Kurnool and Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh and 44 deg cel was recorded at Ramagundam of Telangana.
