“MP Police Is LIke Taliban” Says Former State Congress President Arun Yadav After Youth Dies In Custody

In the latest update from Madhya Pradesh, hundreds of villagers stormed and ransacked a police station. The police had allegedly arrested a youth on a theft charge and died in jail.

Villagers Throw Stones At The Police Station 

As per the latest reports, the 12 were accused of robbery in the Khairkundi village under the Biston police station area. And one of them died in jail on Monday evening. As multiple videos surfaced of the incident online, they showed that soon after the villagers came to know of the death, hundreds of the tribals beseiged the Biston police station.
The videos showed that the villagers vandalized the police station, pelted stones and threw furniture. Following this, some of the villagers flee to save their lives. The villagers alleged that all the accused persons were tortured and brutally beaten by the police personnel.
The videos also showed that while some of the villagers pelted stones, the police fired teargas shells. Meanwhile, some of the police personnel are said to have been injured during the incident.

Former Madhya Pradesh CM Accuses Government Of Oppressing The Tribals 

Reacting to the incident, former Chief Minister Kamal Nath accused the government of oppressing the tribals in the state. He said that after Nemawar and Neemuch, the news of the death of a tribal due to torture in the police station and the murder of tribal girl students while going to schools has come to light.

He then demanded a high level of inquiry into the incident and strict action against the culprits along with all the possible help to the families of the victims.
Former State Congress President Arun Yadav also slammed the government and said that the MP police is like the Taliban. He said that the incident is “sad and condemnable”.
