Murder Accused Sonam Raghuvanshi’s Pregnancy Test Inconclusive, Ultrasound Recommended

Sonam Raghuvanshi, the main accused in the murder of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi, underwent a pregnancy test that came out inconclusive. Doctors said they will need to do an ultrasound after one week to confirm if she is pregnant. The test was part of a full medical check-up done on Monday by three female doctors.

According to medical staff, Sonam looked very scared and mentally disturbed during the examination. She was physically weak and was given energy drinks and juice. However, doctors found no visible injuries on her body. Medical experts said unclear results are common in early pregnancy, and more tests are needed for confirmation.

The unclear pregnancy result has added a new twist to the murder case. After the medical check, the Meghalaya Police took Sonam into custody from Ghazipur. She will now be interrogated further in Meghalaya, especially about the crime scene.

Sonam, who was missing for 17 days, has now been confirmed as the main suspect in Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder. She was found in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, on Sunday night. Along with Sonam, police also arrested three men: Akash Rajput (19), Vishal Singh Chauhan (22), and Raj Singh Kushwaha (21).

Uttar Pradesh Police official Amitabh Yash told NDTV that Sonam tried to present herself as a victim, saying she had been drugged and taken to Ghazipur against her will. After appearing in court, Sonam was handed over to Meghalaya Police for a 72-hour custody period. The three other accused are in transit custody for seven days.

Raja Raghuvanshi’s body was found in a gorge near Weisawdong Falls in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills on June 2. He and Sonam had gone missing ten days earlier. They had gotten married on May 11 in Indore and were on their honeymoon in Meghalaya.
