Muslims observe fast at their homes on the first day of Holy month of Ramzan

Hyderabad: The from across the state today observed fasting on the first day of the holy month of Ramzan by confining themselves at their homes due to the ongoing lockdown.  The mosques from across the state including the grand old and historic Mecca Masjid wore a deserted look due to the lockdown. The Muslims also offered their obligatory five prayers at their homes.

The optional Taraweeh prayer which is offered every day at Mosques during the month-long Ramzan month was also offered at homes by the Muslims of the state.  The superintendent of Mecca Masjid Mohammad Abdul Qadar Siddique has urged the Muslims to offer to perform their Sehri,  Iftaar, and prayers at their homes till the lockdown is withdrawn in the state. He also urged them to hold the Ramazan feasts at their homes. Meanwhile, the authorities of the electricity department have made elaborate arrangements to ensure round the clock supply of electricity to its consumers throughout the holy month of Ramzaan.
