Hyderabad : The Health Information Management Association, in association with Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, is organising a two-day National Conference on “Implementation of EHR for Effective Patient Care for Doctors, Nurses & Paramedics”.
Dr RV Prabhakar Rao, CEO, BIACH&RI, was the Chief Guest. Dr T ubramanyeswara Rao, Medical Director, BIACH&RI, Dr Nimma Satyanarayana, Medical Superientendent, NIMS and Prof GD Mogli, CEO & MD, Dr Mogli Healthcare Management Consultancy, Hyderabad as Guest of Honours. Dr Zakir Hussain, HOD, Medical Records Department of BIACH&RI welcomed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mogili, who was known as father of Medical Records system in India has explained the importance of such conference that is intended for exchanged latest techniques and best practices followed in the subject. Dr Nimma Satyanarayana, Medical Superintendent, NIMS Hospital, opined that the medical records should be maintained in a way that they are beneficial to patents, doctors and also for research purposes. He also advised the medical records professionals to maintain records in a way that they will be helpful in fighting ever increasing legal cases in the field.
Dr RV Prabhakar Rao said the future lies with electronic health record system that can be accessed by doctors, patients and allows the data to flow from one process to another easily. He also urged them to focus on safety, privacy and other such issues while dealing with sensitive information of a patient. A proper control must be placed to ensure that data is secure, he advised.
The two-day conference was attended by the members of The Health Information Management Association, medical records professionals from various hospitals, institutions from across the nation. (NSS)
